In 1996 Eric came to realize that God was calling him into ministry of some kind. In 1998, he understood that calling to be with youth and young adults. Since then, God has been constructing a message in him - to reintroduce the issue of relationships and how to live a distinctive Christian life. Therefore, Eric has been traveling the country speaking to students as well as being a student pastor. He attended Southeastern Bible College and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Eric knows firsthand the world of this generation and the impact it has had and having regarding relationships. He wants to help others discover the importance of living a distinctive Christian life, which includes relationships. The truth is that life is a journey and a process. In other words, the way life is now is not the way it will always be. So when the journey gets tough, and you're in the valley, and you can't believe the mistakes you have made, or you just want to quit, remind yourself that it is a process. You are not finished yet. There is grace for your journey.

Wild at Heart

This past week was a pretty good week. I played beach volleyball Tuesday, took a test on Thursday in Christian Doctrine. I am not so sure how I did on the exam. It is one of those exams where you will have to wait and see. Friday night, I went to a Halloween party. We carved pumpkins, had dinner, and watched a movie. It was good times, great oldies. Saturday I hung out with some friends downtown, then we played games once we got back to the apartment. Yesterday I skipped church, yeah yeah, whatever. Then I went to a Fall Festival at a friend’ church, that was cool. So, in the events area it was good.

I am going through Wild at Heart again. WOW!! I am learning so much more stuff than the first time I read it. In junction with that book, I am reading Surrender to Love. I am being hit with a sledgehammer again that God is a wild man and He is passionate about His creation and me. Along with all that, I am truly beginning to see that men in today’s society are not leaders anymore, therefore, that is why we are seeing more women taking on the roles that men should be doing. It is my prayer for myself and all men that we would begin to, and for some, regain leadership abilities and to be one who a lady would desire to follow.

My challenge for the next few days is to meditate on who I am. To be a boy again. To play. To take on new challenges. Overcome some of my fears. To be wild at heart.
