Yeah, I know it's been a while since the last entry, please forgive me. Things on the homefront are going great. I have been busy getting my speaking packet ready again and sending out emails to student pastors and other student speakers trying to get going for 2005.
Well, lets get down to what the title says. I had the joy of taking my friend Jordan to get his truck at the shop (he had some work done on it). The trip for the day was going to include a run to Wal-Mart, some lunch, then pick up his truck. We started this journey around 1pm. I had the idea of going to the new Wal-Mart in the Garden District, however, I didn't really know how to get there. We drove and drove, finally we saw a post man, and ask him where it was located, his response, "It is across the other side of town". Jordan gave me the look. So, we decided to go to the one we knew how to get to. We go there get my stuff and go to Subway across the street. We order the meal, and THEN they tell us there are no cokes, that the coke machine is broken, grrrr. We ate, it was good. This now was around 3:30 when we left. Off to get his truck. Well, you know me, I thought I knew where I was going, but I didn't. I should have taken 610 to Paris street, I took 10 THINKING it would take us to Paris street. Oh yeah, not to mention the traffic was terrible. When did we arrive at the shop? 5:15pm. What should have been about 2 hours was almost 4 and a half.
The moral of this story, make sure you know where you are going, and listen to people who do know where they are going, it helps. The challenge for the day is:: If you do not know where you are going in life, talk with Jesus. He is a driver that knows where everything is at, and has driven the road many times.
